This celebration to higher powers given Vålerenga fans to race – Dagbladet.no

• Vålerenga – Stabæk 0-2 (0-1)

ULLEVAAL (Dagbladet): Before the season tipped experts Stabæk would get a heavy season. Approximately whole team from last year have been replaced, but Saturday did Bob Bradley crew it again.

They won, this time 2-0 over Vålerenga at Ullevaal.

Adama Diomande and Ernest Asante scored the goals. Especially the celebration of the latter provoked Vålerenga supporters. He sat long at Ullevaal-grass and pointing toward higher powers. This was eventually met with booing.

Stabæk got maximum payment of chances and played well with ten men in 34 minutes.

Vålerenga could – and should – have scored on their many chances. But this was not the evening.

– Chance wise and playing wise, this was one of our best games. We are left aimless, is completely insane, says coach Kjetil Rekdal Dagbladet.

Little People

Football starting with a “Spanish time” did not beat an in Oslo Saturday night . Store grandstand sections at Ullevaal stood empty when the fight started at 20.00 – with 7560 tickets sold.

Vålerenga got the better start and pressed – without creating any big chances.

Fresh in the memory had homemade it embarrassing cuptapet Gjovik / Lightning Wednesday.

– Cuptapet will have consequences for some, thundered coach Kjetil Rekdal, and placed Niklas Gunnarsson and Sivert Heltne Nilsen stands.

Although Vålerenga had prevailed the first half hour, it was Stabæk who took the lead. After 34 minutes, Jonatan Nation kicked down Giorgi Gorozia within 16-yard box. Referee Tom Harald Hagen pointed at the 11-yard box.

Adama Diomande made no mistake and scored.

– A downturn, says Rekdal, who believes that his team was on their toes from the start.

Unfair

0-1 could seem unfair at this time. Stabæk thanks and bowed, and on the sidelines patted coach Bob Bradley satisfied.

The goal comes confidence, it says. Stabæk managed to move the ball higher up the pitch. In the minutes before the break turned the wind really in Bærum team’s direction.

Ernest Asante had a fighting chance, but clumsy it to run in the decisive moments.

On TV 2 Zebra in the break, it was shown pictures of Kjetil Rekdal who went in gum. He had obvious concerns.

Acquiring

Both teams had opportunities at the start of the 2nd half – Vålerenga far the biggest.

After 56 minutes we got a red card at Ullevaal. Luc Kassi cut down Vålerenga captain Christian Grindheim. Kassi had also booked before the break and got marching orders.

Now, everything was set for Vålerenga. Rekdal took out Daniel Braaten and sat catching up Rasmus Lindkvist.

But then something happened that surprised Ullevaal: Instead of compensating increased Stabæk 2-0. Ernest Asante played with Vålerenga defense after 64 minutes, and shot to the right of Michael Langer.

Goaaaal!

Asante celebrated with fellow players – and higher powers – which was not directly popular. Dagbladet elaborates Asante:

– This is something I must do, even if I get a yellow card. I do not care, this is something I must do. I put God highest. I can not do anything without God and thank him every time.

Vålerenga had a bunch of chances after a 0-2 goal, but did not succeed.

Stabæk lie three points behind Rosenborg on the table. Vålerenga – in turn – has got something to think about for a good league start.
