The Reds had to win to keep alive hopes of fourth place and a draw, the red part of Manchester breathe sigh of relief with two league games left. In theory Liverpool pass United, but it is very doubtful with six points up and 14 plussmål less.

Rested players
There has been much talk about Chelsea’s entrance into the fight after the London team won the league with victory over Crystal Palace last. Chelsea is namely the team that has used the fewest players in the Premier League this season, and several of them have enough benefit from a little rest now that the season is practically over.
José Mourinho went earlier this week out and disavowed rumors that he should have given his players free for four days before match against Liverpool. He claims that no player got so much as a single day off.
Mourinho chose to rest some key players. He retained six of the eleven that started against Crystal Palace and pretended including youngster Ruben Loftus-Cheek Ira (19) have a chance from the start. It was his second match of the Premier League for the London club after he came on in injury time against Manchester City earlier this season.
– He met Coutinho who is one of the world’s best players at the moment, so he could well, says Terry about his teammate.
controversial situation
Even before the minutes were recorded came judge André Marriner in focus. Cesc Fabregas tackled Raheem Sterling studs-first in the leg, but escaped with a yellow card. Ironically, it was precisely Fabregas who laid the foundations for Chelsea’s leading goal.
The Spaniard sent a corner into the box where Rickie Lambert selected John Terry. There was no luck recipe, and the captain sharply past Simon Mignolet and Steven Gerrard on the line.
After a scant 20 minutes kept Fabregas Sterling in jersey without being called off. Several journalists in social media asked how he could still be on track in this settlement.
Gerrard-equalizing
Mario Balotelli, Fabio Borini, Rickie Lambert and Daniel Sturridge has eight goals overall in the league. It is therefore not hard to see where the shoe pressed for Liverpool this season.
In comparison, Chelsea’s defenders and scored ten league goals by John Terry, Branislav Ivanovic and Gary Cahill. Terry is also the Premier League’s highest scorer with 39 goals.
But Liverpool’s midfielders know at least where the goal stands.
Before the match stated José Mourinho that he looked at Gerrard as a good enemy, and that was precisely the Liverpool talisman who headed the equation. After 45 minutes of pepper from Chelsea fans he gave the Reds who had made the trip to London something to cheer – and also the hope of Champions League next season.
– We did not win the fight, unfortunately, but we showed what lives in us, says Gerrard via TV2.
Clapping off the field
When Gerrard went off the pitch after 79 minutes stood Mourinho and clapped the captain off the field. Even Chelsea fans gave Gerrard a standing ovation.
– Very nice done by our fans, thought John Terry.
– It was finely made, but the slang shit throughout the match, I’ll not stand here and brag about them, says Gerrard on the followers of the blue.
– We have respect for the great players. We will miss him, says Mourinho said.
The manager says the negative songs from Chelsea fans shows how much respect Gerrard has.
Young debutant
The youngster Ruben Loftus-Cheek Ira was replaced in favor of Nemanja Matic for a duration of an hour. Then had enough Mourinho grown tired that Liverpool were the leading team.
Martin Skrtel was also lucky not his second yellow card in the second half when he kept Fabregas in the shirt when Chelsea counterattacked.
Liverpool threw also catching up a youngster who got his league debut. Jerome Sinclair (18) played the last 25 minutes of settlement. It was probably much because Liverpool had no other attackers on the bench.
Despite the dominance in the second half never managed Liverpool to insert the decisive goal. It is therefore likely to play in the Europa League for the Reds next season.
PS It was popular when Chelsea attacker solved ticket and sat in the stands with the fans. You can probably expect some selfies with Costa on the image on social media throughout the evening.
